ARTNIVAL is coming back to Riverside! A step back in time onto the grounds of a carnival near the turn of the last century. It will have games, food, music, and performers that one might imagine from a simpler time. But there will be a twist. Rather than winning a balloon or a goldfish, people who play the games will walk away with a piece of original art.One of the goals is to introduce the community to local artists as they experience art outside of a traditional museum setting. All proceeds will go to the Division 9 Gallery non-profit fund, which seeks to educate the community in arts and traditions, as well as to cultivate up and coming artists. More Information

The Raincross Chorale will present something from the more modern choral tradition this Spring, performing the “Magnificat” by British composer John Rutter. The Riverside Urban Challenge is a 10K Scavenger Hunt Race throughout downtown Riverside searching for clues at Historical sites around the city. The race will start and end at Mi Tortilla Riverside 3203 Mission Inn Ave and run from 9am – 12pm. Racers should be there no later than 8:30am to sign in. As this is a scavenger hunt, participants need to bring a smartphone, a camera, and a pen or pencil to document each location in the race. Every racer is responsible to find parking on their own and Please no parking at Mi Tortilla. Entry Fee includes the race, event shirt, and lunch for 1 at Mi Tortilla. Runners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to participate. A separate waiver will be provided on race day for parents to sign. More information.

This is not your ordinary Ice Cream Social! All ages will enjoy this free community event which features ice cream, homemade lemonade, and musical entertainment as one may have celebrated in Victorian Riverside during the 1890s. Guests will have the opportunity to play authentic Victorian games, learn how old-fashioned hand cranked ice cream is made, operate a citrus sizer, and watch a special patriotic program by the Sons of the American Revolution that will include: musket firing, cotillion dance, and a parade through the grounds, all in revolutionary-war era costumes. Foster youth who are aging out of the foster care system often find themselves instantly on their own as teenagers with no housing or support from family or community. Without mentoring and motivation, most former foster youth find themselves homeless, pregnant, on drugs, or in jail.Inspire Life Skills Training, Inc. is making a difference in our community by providing these young people with housing assistance, life skills training, education and employment support. Program participants live independently, participate in individual and group life skills instruction, and receive counseling, healthcare access and mentoring. Saturation is a DIY art and music festival that occurs annually in Riverside, CA. Events are held at venues around downtown Riverside, with a majority of the participants based in the Inland Empire. Saturation includes concerts, films, workshops, exhibitions, guerilla shows, organized bike rides, and handcrafted art.Saturation was started by Alaska Quilici in 2001. "I launched Saturation fest as a weekend event of every local band and artist I knew, and people were really excited about it," says Quilici. The audience has steadily grown over the last 9 years, going from a few hundred the first year to about 10,000 in 2008. "It has grown to the massive project it is now because people believe in it, and they look forward to it, and they get involved and contribute and play." More Information

Each Year over 7,500 motorcyclists pack the street of Indiana Avenue in Riverside, California to celebrate the tradition of West Coast Thunder. They come to pay tribute to the men and women of our armed forces who fight for our freedom and memorialize those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.West Coast Thunder first originated in May of 2000 and to this date, West Coast Thunder has donated over $350,000 to the Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee. These donations help build monuments at the Riverside National Cemetery. More Information

UCR Choral Society, Edward Bruner and solosits.The Stubborn Lovers was the composer's first mature opera. Opus 17 requires a cast of five soloists, and contains an overture, solos, duets, trios and choruses in 16 scenes. Although Dvorák finished composing the libretto in 1874, the premiere was not given until October 2, 1881 at the New Czech Theatre, Prague. Following a performance, in celebration of composer's 60th birthday in 1901, the opera became a part of the Czech opera repertoire. This is the first English language edition of the work. Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the Emancipation of African Americans from slavery but has come to signify much more. It is celebrated in June, the month that the last African Americans were informed of their Emancipation. Summers coming and here’s a GREAT opportunity for young people to learn something new. The Riverside Community Sailing Program offers a sailing program right here in the City of Riverside on Lake Evans. The program is designed to teach sailing basics and beyond. Each student will have their own Sabot, sized just for young sailors. These 8 foot long sailboats are lightweight, relatively safe and stable. The emphasis of the program is to offer a positive atmosphere for learning both sailing and life skills helping students safely expand their confidence through small accomplishments and self-discovery. If you have ever stayed at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa or visited for a special event then you know what a unique and special gem we have in downtown Riverside. For those who haven’t visited yet (or have but want to see more) the Mission Inn Foundation / Museum offers Docent led tours 7 days a week at a cost of 13.00 per person. The tours are 75 minutes long so were comfortable shoes. You can find schedules and reservation information at the museums website. And before or after your tour the Foundations museum and gift shop are worth exploring too.
